Energy Conscious & Energy Conservation

People must learn to become more and more energy conscious. They must teach their children to practice preservation of energy.  This may sound a little harsh or rude but it is nothing more than the truth.  Did you ever drive down the street and see the amount of exterior lights some people leave on at night day in and day out ? Some people are so unconscious that they also leave the lights burning during the daytime.  Is it really necessary to leave all those lights burning?  Enter the interior of the house and we see 2-3 Flat Screens running, 3-4 Computers running, Printers, Faxes, 2 Refrigerators, 2 Freezers, Washers & Dryers and whatever electronic gadgets that the kids can find at the store that seem to run non stop. 

Now lets talk about space heating and cooling.  Instead of setting the temperature at about 78 degrees which is normally set for air conditioning comfort, some folks have it set at 70 degrees and colder.  Bottom line is the air conditioner can't catch up because the thermostat is set so low the unit never cycles.  Exact opposite for heating up north, some people set the thermostat so high the heating unit hardly ever stops running.  I find some people no matter how high the thermostat is they are always cold.  The only thing catching up to them is a WHOPPER utility bill at the end of the month.
